The Laver Cup brings together six of Europe’s best men’s tennis players to take on six of the top players from the rest of the world in three days of intense team competition.
Played on a single hard court, the tournament sees the team captains select their line-ups each day. Every match is best of three sets, with a 10-point match tiebreak deciding the third set.
Each player must compete in singles at least once during the first two days and can play no more than two singles matches across the competition. At least four of the six players on each team must also compete in doubles.
The stakes rise as the weekend unfolds. A match win is worth one point on Friday, two points on Saturday and three points on Sunday, meaning every match becomes increasingly important. The first team to reach 13 points wins the Laver Cup.
If the teams are tied after all 12 matches, the trophy is decided by a final overtime doubles match, The Decider, played as a regular set with ad scoring and a tiebreak.
